I recently read the unabridged and historical annotated version of "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte, and I was thoroughly impressed. The story is a classic for a reason, but the annotations and historical context provided in this edition gave me a deeper appreciation for the book and its author.

The annotations help to clarify some of the more obscure language used by Bronte, as well as provide insight into the cultural and historical context in which the book was written. I found this to be particularly helpful in understanding the relationships between the characters and the social norms of the time.

The quality of the physical book is also impressive, with a sturdy cover and clear, easy-to-read text. Overall, I highly recommend this edition of "Wuthering Heights" to any fan of classic literature or anyone looking to gain a deeper understanding of this iconic novel.

Wuthering Heights is the story of love between Catherine and Heathcliff. The story takes place in the windy moors of Yorkshire and has a classical setting. The author masterfully depicts the story of their love. The book is filled with drama and suspense. It is a great read and a classic of all time.

Having watched the movie, Emily, and feeling a renewed interest in her only novel, I wanted to read the unabridged version, as close to her original vision as possible. This was the perfect edition and although some of the dialect is challenging (thankfully not the main characters’) it doesn’t hinder the story development. Bronte’s tale stands the test of time and transports the reader to that world then, although removed from today’s reality, still holding elements of the frailty all humankind suffers.
