Live for Love (Stories from the Sound Book 5) (English Edition) Formato Kindle
Beauregard Boudreaux is a native of New Orleans Louisiana that never thought he would stray far from home. The untimely death of his first love left Beau lost, adrift, looking for a place as far away from the pain as possible. Initially, he came to New York to visit a friend, the city growing on him, so he decided to stay. His law degree comes in handy at the LGBTQ Center he runs, but his bar is his baby.
William Richards grew up in Chicago, his family oddly normal and very accepting of his sexuality. He hasn’t experienced loss or pain as Beau has, the common denominator between them is loneliness. The two men are perfect for each other, their tastes and lives align and the writing seems to be on the wall. But Beau has a secret he shares with a choice few, a secret that not only threatens to keep them apart, it’s deadly.
Resolved to keep a wall between himself and William, Beau fights the attraction, pushes the man away every time he steps closer. But William is determined to break down Beau’s defenses and

Beau, a lawyer, owner of a pub and founder of a youth center for LGBTQ has lived with HIV for over a decade, infected by his onetime partner, now deceased. Beau had closed himself off to emotions and relationships, frightened of loving and losing again. William, porn star for All Cocks had set his sights on the lovely Cajun and with both barrels went for the man until Beau finally relented and went out with him. The rest was a happy ending with ups and downs, but worth the adventure.
Ms. Smith delivered a beautiful story of love still out there, even when you are fighting silent demons that could potentially rear its ugly head. The author did a wonderful and well- researched job of illustrating the importance of safe sex and the knowledge needed when a person is HIV positive and/or dating someone with the virus. Ms. Smith spared no details, no matter how sensitive in educating her readers that life can go on with proper precautions.
As always, the men of All Cocks, were supportive and loving~ their make shift family~ endearing and quite capable of handling any challenge. Ms. Smith does a nice job of not forgetting her past main characters and allowed them to traverse the new storyline while still keeping true to the message. Mattie, Victor, Chris, Andrew, all the men of All Cocks, worm their way into any reader’s heart and hold a special place.
William and Beau had chemistry both in personality and sexually. The two men deserved what they desired~ a loving partner coupled with a loving family.
Definite S.E.X.
A five handcuff review
[...]
A beautiful cover, designed by Jay Aheer of Simply Defined Art. Synopsis sounds more subdued.
Looking Deeper:
Third-person POV.
As the fifth book in the series opens, we glimpse a painful point in our favorite bartender's life. There are times throughout the book that are a little somber and dark, but it is balanced quite well with the antics of the other cast members, eventually drawing Beau into the light. Secondary characters include: previous All Cocks couples and throuples, staff and residents of the center, staff at BBs and a few minor others. In order to fully appreciate this book, I'd really, highly recommend reading the series in order for maximum benefit and comprehension.
I am finding it difficult to decide just how well I enjoyed this book. While I truly loved the main characters as well as the some of the newer characters presented that hint at a future possible story and the super smooth and well-written story, the plot seemed to hop and skip time a lot. One month here, two months there. It made it more difficult to develop a deeper connection to Beau and William and really feel their relationship and bond growing as it did. What I did love was the way T.M. Smith conveyed the dialect and accent through written word, I feel that it really brought Beau's character to life. I only wish that in addition to going to Chicago that they would have went to visit Alma. I was looking forward to that and it never happened. The plot seems to stop rather abruptly, but wraps up in a fantastic epilogue... again, leaving us with hints of possible future stories or side-lines. It was great to read more about how the other cast members are coming along, I enjoy the continuing time line and inclusion of other characters.
This is not a series about gay porn, in fact, there's a line in this book that struck the heart of this series dead-on....
(Quoting from unedited ARC, may be subject to change)
"...porn didn't define any of them. It was a job, nothing more. Their lives started when the camera stopped rolling, not when it began."
Well said.
