L'autore

Carolina Farías is an award-winning author and illustrator of over 40 books. After receiving her bachelor's degree in art, she began teaching at the University of Graphic Design and Visual Communication in La Plata. Her artwork is created using a variety of mediums with traditional and digital techniques. Carolina is part of the White Ravens 2007 list for the Bologna Book Fair, where she has also been selected to represent Argentina. She currently lives in La Plata, Argentina, with her husband and their two beautiful children.

My 11 month old absolutely loves this book. I bought it because he really responded to other books illustrated by the author, and this was no exception. Even though he's only 11 months he sits still and pays attention while I read through the entire book, he even helps me turn the pages because he's so into it. Though he doesn't understand the story yet, the whimsical and colorful illustrations capture his attention and there's so much for him to take in with each page. I've been reading it to him daily and I believe this will be his favorite for a long time to come.

My kids and I really enjoyed this new picture book. Chameleon decides he wants to be a new animal. He thinks up different creatures to try on for size, then gives rhyming clues describing the animals of which he’s thinking. The reader takes a guess, then flips the page for a fun reveal. A peacock! A koala! A lion!
The trouble is, none of the new animals feel quite right. Ultimately Chameleon realizes he is happiest in his own skin. The playful illustrations are just bursting with gorgeous color, and the clever animal riddles are fun to solve. This is a book about being yourself but told in a fun, fresh way.
